About Knitmade

Our story

It all started with Marie-Louise, who as a passionate knitter has known both the great joy of creating – but also the frustration when things didn’t work. I experienced it time and time again: Recipes scattered in emails, folders and prints, yarn that was discontinued or impossible to match – and far too much time spent searching, comparing and doubting.

I missed one place that could bring it all together. A tool that both helped me keep track of my recipes and projects, and at the same time made it easy to find yarn alternatives, prices and inspiration. That place didn’t exist – so I decided to create it myself.

Knitmade was born out of a love for knitting and the desire to make everyday life easier for you who knit. Knitting should be creative, relaxing and inspiring – not confusing and time-consuming. My wish is for Knitmade to be more than an app: it should be a community that brings together knitters across experience and style. A place where we can inspire each other, discover new recipes and share the joy of yarn and projects.
